The Burrow

With just the right distance between the happenings of the Sundance Resort and raw nature, The Burrow is the perfect classic mountain cabin. Hiking, mountain biking or snowshoe trails to Stewart Falls, the Sundance Resort, and Aspen Grove are all outside your front door.

The interior of the cabin is the perfect combination of log cabin and modern convenience. Vaulted ceilings, an open loft and a wood burning stove are just a few of the reasons you will call this home and never want to leave. The main cabin has 2 bedrooms on the main level with a shared full bathroom while the upper level loft with 2 twin beds has a convenient half bath. Detached and just feet behind the cabin is the guest quarters with the master bedroom and full bath for anyone deserving a little more privacy and solitude.

The cabin is nestled into the deep woods near the base of Stewart Falls. A short walk down from the cabin will put you on the trail head to one of the most popular hikes in Utah and the best short hike in Sundance. This is the cabin to enjoy in the mountains yet feel just as comfortable as if you were in your own home.

Although you should be out watching the moon rise or the Milky Way at night there is new flat screen with an Apple TV to enjoy your favorite movies and shows you can't live without. Just make sure your outdoor activity outweighs your indoor activity!

As your hosts, we live at Sundance full time - so we’re always available. We would love to share this beautiful place with you. Call us today for more information at 801 362-9380.

Once you get here you may never leave. The Burrow has an impact on everyone that visits. It's remote, heavily forested and a few hundred feet away from one of the best trailheads in all of Utah.

Our Rates

At Stewart Mountain Lodging, we tend to shy away from offering “online” booking. Why? Because we know you’ll probably have some questions.  Plus, we can share a thing or two about the properties and the local area.  And quite honestly, we’ll have answers for questions that maybe you haven’t even thought about.

We’re travelers too, so we know it can feel risky when booking a place you’ve never seen before. Because lodging rates can be subjective, wouldn’t it be nice if the person answering your questions on the other end of the phone was just blatantly honest?  (but really nice)

Talk with us.  If we don’t think a particular property is a good fit for your family, your budget or your peace of mind we’ll tell you.  In the end, what counts most is that after you get back home you’ll look back and say, “it was so worth it”.

After all, it’s more just another vacation. It’s a chapter in your life. Spend it well.

Visitor Reviews & Stories

Couldn't be happier. Everything was wonderful. Facilities were great. Clean and well maintained. Location was ideal for an intimate, secluded escape to the mountains. Can't wait to get back for summer hiking.

Karen C. Sacramento, CA (March 2016)

It was, in short, hands-down,  by a clear margin, the finest vacation property, in both structure and service, that we ever were lucky enough to rent. In a truly idyllic setting, with a feeling of wooded privacy, yet  only a mile from the resort, and a mere few hundred feet from stunningly spectacular mountain and waterfall views, this property, a gorgeous story-book log home, set upon on a hill, amidst the pines, beautifully appointed, was immaculate. With  every possible luxury amenity imaginable, particularly for gourmet meals, it was more than we asked for.

The owner (a singularly wonderful person) went far above-and-beyond what I ever imagined an owner would do. Without us asking, Ben actually showed up with a Christmas tree, and even more amazingly,  volunteered to lend us his personal off-road-vehicle in the aftermath of a record snowfall when we realized our 4x4 was not sufficient. We drove it around for over a week, with our skis and gear. The cabin came with five pairs of snowshoes with trails just minutes away from our front door. For my family, it was an uniterable Christmas vacation!

Moreover, Vicki and the balance of her property managers, all wonderful folks, were unfailingly responsive and  genuinely personable; they actually went into town for us, more than once, and delivered us a supply of groceries and other items, right to our front porch and refrigerator. They even made a special trip to a sporting supply store for us, down in Provo.

Sundance is a sort of magical place for us—our family all loved the Nordic skiing center above all—and we would come back to this particular property  in a heartbeat.

Michael H. Tucson, AZ (Dec 2015)
