Hillside Hideaway

Tucked into the trees on a hillside, it’s right across the street from the North Fork stream that winds its way down the lane. We call this cabin our Hillside Hideaway. It’s one of our great properties located on Big Pine Canyon Road, just a short 5 minute walk to the Sundance Resort. The cabin offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern conveniences. It’s a great property for a relaxing mountain getaway.

There are two wood-burning fireplaces, including one in the master bedroom. The great room has large windows on three sides, flooding the room with an abundance of natural light and great views of the forest. Relax on the large deck that surrounds the cabin, perfect for dining under the stars in the summer months.

In winter, there’s great sledding all the way down Big Pine Canyon Road. We’ll give you some Mountain Boy sleds to use. Chances are you’ll see us at the top of the hill, too, since we live practically next door.

As your hosts, we live at Sundance full time - so we’re always available. We would love to share this beautiful place with you. Call us today for more information at 801-229-1111.

Our Rates

At Stewart Mountain Lodging, we tend to shy away from offering “online” booking. Why? Because we know you’ll probably have some questions.  Plus, we can share a thing or two about the properties and the local area.  And quite honestly, we’ll have answers for questions that maybe you haven’t even thought about.

We’re travelers too, so we know it can feel risky when booking a place you’ve never seen before. Because lodging rates can be subjective, wouldn’t it be nice if the person answering your questions on the other end of the phone was just blatantly honest?  (but really nice)

Talk with us.  If we don’t think a particular property is a good fit for your family, your budget or your peace of mind we’ll tell you.  In the end, what counts most is that after you get back home you’ll look back and say, “it was so worth it”.

After all, it’s more just another vacation. It’s a chapter in your life. Spend it well.

Visitor Reviews & Stories

"Vicki steered us Perfectly. They have a lot of properties to choose from and she was the consummate professional and Extremely nice. The property was in great condition and the home was stocked with all of the goodies you would expect from a professionally managed property (down to the dog biscuit for our dog) We will use this company again FOR SURE and I am highly confident in recommending Stewart Mgm in Sundance!!"

Rob C. Georgia ~ March 2017

"This is a beautiful well-appointed cabin nestled in the trees with beautiful fall colors. We were only there for one night wishing we could have stayed longer. If we ever get back to Sundance, we will definitely stay here again."

Joyce P. Texas ~ September 2016

"Booked a last minute (within a few days!) trip to Sundance to see some snow and could not have been happier with our stay. The staff (especially Wyatt) at Stewart Mtn Lodging were great to work with on such short notice. The Hillside Hideaway cabin was within walking distance to the resort about 10 minutes or less, even in the snow we enjoyed the walk. The cabin had everything we needed, and the wood burning fireplace and outside hot-tub were perfect for our winter stay. The cabin has a rustic charm, and the open windows looked out to the snow covered pines. It was bigger than what was needed for just 2 adults, but perfect for anyone travelling with family. There's a cute loft perfect for kids. The staff at Stewart Mtn lodging was very helpful, checked up on us when we got lots of snow one night to let us know they were working on getting the driveway plowed. Sundance itself is a beautiful place, we prefer the quieter, remote places over the busy, big ski resorts. The mountain is a fun mountain, low crowds during our visit. We did some snowshoeing at the Nordic center and ventured out to drive to another winter hike and see Park City. We were glad we choose where we did and will definitely be back to Sundance and book through Stewart again."

Natalie K. Florida ~ January 2016

"WOW! What a fun place to spend a weekend. Comfortable great room with tons of natural light all day. The kids enjoyed playing and sleeping in the loft. We loved the bedroom with it's own fireplace. Overall, a great place! What we liked the most is that Sundance has a different feel from other ski towns. It has such an inviting, down home atmosphere...Thanks to Brad and Vicki...We really felt as if we were part of a small mountain community and not just a weekend guest."

Dave M. April

“We are so grateful we found Stewart Mountain Lodging. Upon arrival, we found a beautiful cabin with a warm environment. Our children love the sleeping in the crow’s nest loft, hiking the trails, fishing on the Provo River, and enjoying the peaceful wilderness. Brad & Vicki have been wonderful hosts who have treated us like family. This is FAR more than we expected. We look forward to coming back again next year!”

Ken, Diane, and Family – Omaha, NE

"Thanks Brad and Vicki! We greatly enjoyed out "too short" stay in this perfect place. Sundance is very beautiful and very unique. We loved the birch truer covered mountains and the great view of the Perseid meteor shower from the main porch!"

"We love your beautiful cabin- modern facilities yet rustic in nature. True to form. We've been traveling and staying hotels. It's nice to be able to feel at home and enjoy some home cooked meals. We enjoyed our first trip to Sundance including watching the metoer showers at midnight till 2:30 am and driving up to the 8000 ft summit. No chance to use your jacuzzi this time, but perhaps when we come back. Thanks for a beautiful stay."

Thanks again,

Jim, Virgie, Jeff Stadler - Guam + Miami, Florida
