Tucked into the trees on a hillside, it’s right across the street from the North Fork stream that winds its way down the lane. We call this cabin our Hillside Hideaway. It’s one of our great properties located on Big Pine Canyon Road, just a short 5-minute walk to the Sundance Resort. The cabin offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern conveniences. It’s a great property for a relaxing mountain getaway.

There are two wood-burning fireplaces, including one in the master bedroom. The great room has large windows on three sides, flooding the room with an abundance of natural light and great views of the forest. Relax on the large deck that surrounds the cabin, perfect for dining under the stars in the summer months. And in the winter, you can warm up after a day on the slopes in the hot tub, or sauna.

You'll love our private park, "The Hollow", with an outdoor fireplace and Zip Line swing. With our full concierge services we can arrange for a day of fly fishing with our favorite guides, recommend a variety of local day trips and/or hikes, or arrange a massage in your home. Great house in a great location - within walking distance of Sundance Resort but in a very quiet location. House is well equipped. The only issue we had was figuring out the heating in the bedrooms - was difficult getting them cool enough.

Great mountain getaway cabin!

Such an amazing stay in Sundance! The cabin was beautiful, cozy, and perfectly surrounded by nature — the ultimate mountain escape. Everything felt peaceful, comfortable, and thoughtfully put together. The sauna and hot tub was much appreciated after being on the slopes all day. Walkable to Sundance resort but also an easy drive to get to other ski resorts! So grateful for the chance to stay in such a special place. Already looking forward to coming back! Highly recommend!

A beautiful retreat

We have stayed here four times and will continue to return! The home is cozy in the winter with plenty of space for multiple families! Our kids love the loft space. The surrounding area is serene and a wonderful environment to be surrounded by. The home is well taken care of and extremely clean!

Great Spot!

We came for a wedding weekend at Sundance and this was a perfect location and great for our dog and 10 month grandson who had a sitter for the wedding. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms were perfect for us!

Great spacious cabin in the woods!

Had a wonderful family vacation in Sundance. There were mountain views all around and the sound of the stream made it a peaceful setting. Very close to restaurants and hiking trails. We enjoyed sitting out on the spacious deck area and lounging in the hot tub after a fun hike to Stewart's Falls.

My group and I had an amazing time here, the cabin was as described and exceeded our expectations. Very peaceful and private, the hot tub was fantastic. The host provided plenty of suggestions, and small considerate touches like plenty of towels, and even robes. The only complaint we had was that the WiFi can be a little weak and goes in and out but considering how far up the mountain the place is it's to be expected. All in all I would definitely come stay here again.

We had a great family ski trip 5 day vacation at Hillside Hideaway. Cooked a great dinner in the Kitchen one or two times and ate in Sundance and nearby other nights. Skiing and hikes were amazing..... and got to use the hot tub at the end of the day to unwind. Place was very clean. Can't wait to do again!

Absolutely Perfect

This cabin is very close to the resort and easily reached, even in bad storms! Brad is such a great host, always making sure you can drive through the fresh snow. It's a short walk down to the slopes, and the views are excellent. We were welcomed with a soft music vibe, a full wood pile, and a super clean cabin. It was so easy to come back here. My only fear is more people will come with us next year and we may have to find a larger place to stay!

Family Weekend

Our 3-generation family decided last minute, to spend a weekend together in Sundance, and celebrate the youngest grandchild's 1st birthday. Everyone loved staying at the Hillside Hideway. And they all wished we could stay longer, and definitely want to come back again. We started our stay by enjoying the beautiful views off the deck, then took a short walk to beautiful park "The Hollow" and were thrilled with the zipline over a stream, watching sticks go down the stream, walking over the small bridge, and listening to the water. A wedding was scheduled the next day at the park (which we were notified in advance), so we took walks around the neighborhood, saw wild turkeys, and made cookies at the cabin. The fireplace was a great backdrop for family pictures, and the hot tub was so relaxing. Stewart Mountain Lodging was very helpful, had quick responses to any questions or concerns, and even turned on the lights remotely at the park, so we could enjoy a longer evening there. Thank you!

My family has been staying in this cabin for the last 6 years and we love it. Perfect location and its just far enough away to enjoy the quiet, relaxing aspect of the valley. I would recommend this cabin or any other offered by Stewart Mountain not only because of the location but also because of the incredible service and friendliness of the Sterwart Mountain staff. Pure Magic!

Our stay at Hillside Hideaway was pure magic! The atmosphere was serene and cozy, perfect for our group. The loft added a delightful touch of whimsy to our stay. The abundance of firewood kept us warm and comfortable. Being close to the resort was a bonus, ideal for unwinding after a day on the snowy mountain. The hot tub, sauna, and bathtub were heavenly for relaxation. The hosts were friendly and responsive, and the complimentary Kneaders bread was a delightful touch. Overall, a fantastic experience—fresh yet homey, and truly rejuvenating. Highly recommended!

Fun Family reunion

Fun time with 3 so e, daughter in law and two grandsons. Sundance is a beautiful location, peaceful and lovely. The home is comfortable and well situated. Wrap around deck was so much fu. For the kids and the adults lived the hot tub. Kitchen is small but well stocked, with plenty of small appliances, dishes, pans and accessories. I look forward to out next stay!

Hilltop Cabin

The cabin was comfortable and nice. The pictures did the cabin justice. The driveway was very steep. Make sure you have 4-wheel drive, chains and good tread on your tires. The only thing that would make this stay a bit more comfortable if they added one to two king size beds. Great location and beautiful scenery.

Ideal Christmas Getaway

Our family of 5 had been spending Christmas at Sundance for the last 12 years. This was the first year we did not stay at the resort because our group grew to 8. Mountain Hideaway was perfect! It had all the same feel of the resort but with more space. The house is just lovely. The windows truly allow you to enjoy the natural beauty. The living room fireplace and two wonderful couches made for great family time. We were able to get 8 around the dining room table for dinner and kitchen table for breakfast ((used the small plates.) The kitchen was fully equipped. I needed a casserole pan and the office delivered one. Actually whenever I called the office they were responsive and helpful. There was also a real Christmas tree in the living room when we arrived. Commits about the driveway are true but the office was great about plowing and had sale and sand in the property. I can't thank Stewart Mountain Rental's enough for their kindness and help in assisting our family to once again have another dreamy Sundance Christmas!

Birthday getaway

My family has come to Sundance cabins three time for different birthdays. We always have fun and there is plenty to do winter or summer:) This time was a 45 birthday (mine) and a 13 year old, my ( nephew). The cabin was very nice, and the kids enjoyed the hot tub and zip line. We woke to turkeys running the streets and some beautiful snow on our last day. We truly love our time in Sundance.

We absolutely LOVED staying here for our getaway weekend! The place was gorgeous and our dogs loved it too. Very spacious and comfortable beds, the hot tub was a plus, and the hosts were very helpful, their communication was fantastic. Location was easily to get to and it feels private which I really liked.

Wonderful Cabin

Wonderful cabin a few mins from Sundance resort that perfectly fit our needs and the communication was seamless. We had 2 families (4 adults, 1 pre-schooler, and 2 infants) and the house fit us perfectly! With the bunk room and 3rd bedroom, we could've squeezed another couple/small family, but we enjoyed the space comfortably with just 2 families. The main fireplace was amazing and we kept it lit nearly the entire time, the hosts provided plenty of wood. The hot tub was also perfect! Overall, we had a great experience and we'd recommend this cabin as a better and more spacious option than staying at Sundance resort! One note: We would recommend utilizing the grocery concierge service or Instacart since there are no stores nearby. Ordering “to go/take out” isn't really an option at the resort, so plan ahead with dinner reservations or cooking at the house. We struggled the first night with the limited options, but the hosts will gladly help you out!

Enjoyed our stay

4/5 Enjoyed our stay The proximity to Sundance resort is obviously super convenient. Non-skiers would drop the rest of us off and pick us up. The best part of house is the big living space which we enjoyed in the evenings. For those of you that can't completely disconnect from work there's a table off of the kitchen where you can set an leave your laptop. Large foyer with a slate floor so you don't feel guilty about dragging some snow and water into the house. The property manager stressed needing four wheel drive which I assumed was a blanket recommendation for the area. However, the driveway, while short is steep and uphill and icy from being driven over. I made the mistake of driving to the top when we arrived. Our rented Suburban slide down the driveway out of our control when leaving the next morning. From that point on, I parked at the end of the driveway, which was less treacherous pulling out but walking up was still an issue. A trash can of salt and sand was delivered during our stay which was a big help. There is firewood and fire starters provided for the large fireplace but we didn't have any luck getting the wood to burn. Probably the most proactive property managers I've had the experience to work with, in terms of communications, which really took away a lot of the stress of traveling. We try to get out to Sundance every year and would definitely consider staying here again.

The property managers were very helpful and outgoing in making us feel comfortable staying there. The house was perfect and was just the right space for us to gather with enough space for everyone to be able to retreat. Close proximity to Sundance resort and to nearby trails. (I am hesitant to write too good a review because I want it to be available the next time that we want to stay there! Ha!)

Our stay was perfect for our anniversary weekend! The cabin is lovely and we so enjoyed the fireplace, hot tub, and sauna. The cabin is just a few minutes from Sundance so we were able to enjoy dinner at the resort one night and cooked in for the other. The kitchen had all the supplies we needed to prepare meals, although the cookware could use updating. The sweet note and dog treats were a nice touch since we had our pup with us and she enjoyed lounging on the wrap-around deck as much as we did. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Sundance is just a few minutes away! Great communication with hosts! Get the groceries delivered- it a drive to a grocery store. We were there in the summer and SLC was having a heat wave- 100+ degrees. The cabin is in the mountains and we had great night temperatures!

This cabin was perfect for our entire group. We loved how open and spacious the common areas were. And also loved that all 3 couples could have privacy with our own bathrooms.
