We had a private cabin catch fire in Sundance late fall of 2015. The cabin was a complete loss but the North Fork Fire Department was able to contain the fire to just the home and not spread into brush, trees or surrounding cabins. We are grateful for their rapid response, professionalism and commitment to keep our mountain safe.

Sundance is a beautiful destination we have all come to love and some of us are fortunate enough to call home. Fire protection for the safety of our community and guests is something we take very seriously as does our local volunteer fire department. Brad and Wyatt, two members of Stewart Mountain Lodging have been long standing volunteers at the department. This is a great opportunity to meet the volunteers and support a great cause.

Sundance Resort sponsors this great event with the meeting space and food. The North Fork Fire Department staff and volunteers cook and serve the food. We at Stewart Mountain Lodging try to get the message out to our guests, local community, friends and home owners. You are invited to socialize, eat a firemans breakfast, donate to a great cause and enjoy the mountain air. Hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Our community in Sundance wouldn’t be the same without the dedicated staff consisting of both paid and volunteer firefighters and paramedics.

Year round, the North Fork Fire Department stays very busy with car accidents, recreational accidents, structural and car fires to name a few. They work closely with surrounding departments involving Search and Rescue, Swift Water Rescue and large scale accidents.
