Visitor Reviews & Stories

This cabin is seriously heaven on earth. We didn’t even end up driving anywhere! Just hiked, sat in the hot tub, enjoyed the fire, and cooked at home. It was so peaceful! Can’t wait to return.

This is nothing short of a magical property. This is where you should stay when visiting Sundance. The property management company is so nice and checks in to make sure all is wonderful. The house - AMAZING! Whether you have children or not you will love this property. However, if you do have children, there is tons for them to do - the tee-pee, the swing in the yard, the hot tub, all the books and toys in the house. The house decorations are stylish and on point. You will not regret saying here!

We had an amazing stay at the Ridgetop property - we even extended our trip by one night. The house was awesome with a very cool, eclectic style. We enjoyed the hot tub, surrounding nature, awesome views and access to The Hollow, where we spent an afternoon exploring nature, hiking, zip-lining and sitting at the fireplace. We felt so lucky to be able to enjoy our time in the mountains and would love to return!

If you are looking for a place to "get away from it all" -- this is it. This cabin is adorably appointed with rustic features like an antique scale and telephone. Enjoy sitting on the porch or the hot tub. This place is the perfect place to relax or for a little adventure. The host was amazing, constantly staying in touch. We didn't need anything, everything was provided. I would defiantly recommend!

We had a great stay at this cottage. Our boys loved sleeping out in the teepee and I loved sitting on the lawn taking in the beautiful sights and sounds of nature. The kitchen was ready to be used and many of the basics were there. The management team was attentive and super responsive when a light fixture shattered and needed to be cleaned up. I would highly recommend this cottage for a peaceful retreat.

The home was very comfortable for our family of four. The kitchen was well laid out and very functional despite its small size. The main bath was a little tight for all for of us, but since we were on vacation it wasn't a big deal. We just planned a little extra time so that we could take turns getting ready in the morning. The best part of the home is the yard and front porch. Gorgeous views all around, plenty of grass for the kids to run around, an awesome little swing and of course the huge teepee.
We walked to The Sundance resort and realistically it took 20 minutes down and 30 minutes back up to the cabin with munchkins in tow. There is also easy access to the Stewart Falls trail which was a surprisingly lovely hike.
We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return soon!

My husband and I splurged to have a few nights in the mountains before a conference in Salt Lake City. We do quite a bit of traveling and have stayed in some amazing places and this is one of our favorites of all time. Wyatt, who manages the property, was super cool. He hooked us up with maps and directions for a perfect hike up to Stewart Falls (which we could access by walking right out our front door). He also showed us how to access another spot (only available to renters) down the mountain next to a babbling brook with another tipi and amazing party area. He was very helpful. I am a graphic designer so I was gaga over the way this place is decorated - very graphic. I loved it. The hot tub rocked and is below the house so we felt protected. I got some great photos of the wild sunflowers growing all around the property. Beautiful.
We had a hilarious experience while at the cottage. We had bought a giant homemade chocolate chip cookie to have for later and set it on the bar counter in the kitchen next to the window. A few hours later I went to get the cookie and it was gone. We were supposed to share it so I was not too happy with my husband, but he denied taking it. Next thing you know we see a little squirrel skittering around the front porch. My husband made a funny comment about the critter taking it, but the cookie was bigger than he (or she) was! I go back into the kitchen and inspect the area and see a tiny little hole in the screen. Funny thing is, there's no ledge or anywhere to perch on the outside of the window. This little squirrel must have been hanging on with his little claws nibbling away at the screen to get that giant cookie. Meanwhile my husband shouts that he found the plastic wrap in the yard. I turn around and THERE's THE SQUIRREL! Inside the house staring me down in the kitchen demanding another cookie!!! Ha ha ha! I got a blurry pic before he ran off! We closed the window and he came peeking around a few more times then we didn't see him again. Gave a great laugh!

We stayed in the Ridgetop Cabin and had a wonderful time! The cabin had everything we needed including a fabulous view!! This was the perfect combination of being secluded, but having access to all of the Sundance amenities (dining, skiing, snowshoeing, yoga, spa, etc.). In fact, our favorite day was the day we stayed in by the fire, read a book and had a drink in the hot tub. Couldn't have asked for a better vacation for our anniversary.
In addition, Wyatt with Stewart Mountain Lodging couldn't have been more helpful! He helped us plan the perfect trip and was always available to answer our questions. Looking forward to coming back next year!

I absolutely loved this property and will definitely stay again. The teepee is nothing less than charming and the main cabin has a wonderful use of space. The view is great and the peace and quiet was just what I needed to write. The property was immaculate with all of the needed amenities. Wyatt, the manager, was always available for any questions or help. His assistant even brought by a wonderful welcome gift on our first day! I will definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a charming and quiet getaway.

I have to admit it was the tipi that first caught my attention on this cabin even though I knew we wouldn't be able to enjoy it this stay. The cabin was perfect for what we were looking for. We needed a quiet and simple getaway. It was myself, my husband and 11 year old daughter wanting to experience winter.
The cabin has a great wood burning fireplace and the hot tub was positioned perfectly to enjoy the views of the mountains.
We skied, tried cross country for the first time and snowshoed until our legs couldn't take us a step further. The kitchen was small but very functional.
Can't wait to come back for summer hikes, biking, fishing and most of all experiencing the tipi. We might even invite Sampson the family dog next time.
Thanks Stewart Mountain Lodging for all your expert guidance and recommendations. We feel like we are part of the family now. We will be back before you know it.

Columbus Weekend 2014
My friend and I stayed here for a little R&R girls weekend and it was beautiful. The home (Ridgetop)was cozy, the fireplace was wonderful, the hot tub was relaxing, the fully stocked kitchen was wonderful. It was lovely staying up the mountain from Sundance Resort. We were so close that we were able to utilize all the wonderful offerings that were available there. We took the chairlift ride to hike Stewart Falls, we had massages at the Spa, we took a jewelry making class, full moon chair lift ride, even a yoga class in a yurt!! The time of year was simply amazing with warm weather and the beautiful golden leaves of the Aspens. We took the scenic ride on the Alpine Loop and there was a hang tag available for us in the house so we didn't need to pay the fee to drive through. I would totally recommend this place for it's simplicity, clean, homey feel. Everything and more met our expectations for the weekend.

The communication was wonderful and they took the time to make some fabulous dinner recommendations/reservations for us. If you intend to dine at The Tree Room, ask them to make reservations in advance of your stay. They were booked solid and we couldn’t get in. Although, the place in town they recommended was fabulous! Everything was very comfortable and homey. These cabin are older and have been well-used. Do not expect luxury, but you will feel very at-Home.

What an incredible experience in such a beautiful place! Our cabin was so eclectic and beautiful. The beds were comfortable and even though it was small, there was plenty of room for my husband, two grown boys and myself to be completely comfortable.
