Heartwood is a comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin 1.5 miles above the Sundance Mountain Resort in a gated community. The setting and surroundings are overrun with towering pine trees. Just up the road is access to hiking trails leading to Stewart Falls. The outside decks and patio provide a great space to enjoy nature year round. The living room offers a wood burning stove to help create a cozy ambiance.
The main bedroom is located on the upper level with a king bed, fireplace and an attached bathroom with shower.
The main level has large windows letting in an abundance of natural light and spectacular forest views from every window. A wrap around deck makes the outdoor space easy and comfortable year round.
The lower level has the second bedroom with built-in bunkbeds making up 2 queen beds and 2 single beds.

A Great Mountain Getaway
Heartwood was the perfect place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and my wife's birthday. The cabin was spotless, comfortable, and even more beautiful than the photos. We especially loved relaxing on the deck and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
Stewart Mountain Lodging was exceptional—their communication was clear, thoughtful, and professional from start to finish.
To top it all off, on our last evening we were treated to a true mountain experience when a brown bear wandered onto the back deck, looked in through the door, then calmly turned around and disappeared into the forest. It was a memorable reminder that we were guests in nature's home.
Our coworkers at Timpview High School gave us this stay as a retirement gift, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate. We left with wonderful memories and hope to return again.

Our group of 8 adults just wrapped up a two-night weekend getaway at Heartwood cabin in Stewart Mountain Lodging. From booking through checkout the entire experience was wonderful. Vickie and her husband were amazing hosts who were helpful and communicated extremely well. We felt so welcome at the Heartwood cabin from the moment we arrived. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything for preparing meals. The cabin was cozy, clean and full of convenience and creature comforts. The Hollow (a private park for the Steward Mountain Lodging group) was so sweet. Our group spent a lovely evening by the fire in the fireplace that was fully loaded up and ready to be lit when we arrived. Charming spots to enjoy were sprinkled in every direction. It was the first time any of our group had been up to this area and after this weekend we are all planning to return in the fall as well as individually bringing our families up this summer to enjoy this beautiful place.

Great place for a family vacation! We love making dinner and hanging out at the places we stay, and this one was perfect for that. It had a well-equipped kitchen with everything we needed. When we return to Sundance, we will definitely stay here again.

We have been lucky enough to stay at five different Stewart Mountain properties. This was right up there for us with a fantastic location, very private, nice partial views of the mountains and going to bed to the sound of the creek in the distance was wonderful. And a nicer kitchen than some of the smaller cabins available, so that was a bonus for us. And great service, as always, thank you Stewart Mountain Lodging team.

What an absolute blast. The home was cozy and very warming. The scenery was breathtaking. A short walking distance we hiked to stewart falls where are pictures couldn't do justice to the breathtaking views. The home had everything we needed and was beyond our expectations. We will be revisiting in the winter.

Loved this cabin and the area so much! The access to the Stewart Falls hiking trail is very close. Their private zip line down by the River was very fun and we had a few people try the cold plunge too and really enjoyed it. Everything in the cabin was very well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, pots, utensils, which made it feel more like staying in your own home and not like some Airbnb's. We liked the layout of this cabin as the kids had a large room together downstairs, we had a very nice room and bathroom on the top floor and then there was a lot of space in the kitchen, the common room and the outdoor deck on the middle floor. Our family would love to stay here again!

We spent a week in Sundance at the Heartwood and it was everything we could have asked for and more!! The cabin was exactly as pictured. It was perfect sized for our family of 4 and our small dog. You half to go to the Hollows! Our kids loved the zipline and making smores at night :) one night we went down and it was so dark so I texted the contact I had gotten prior to arrival and asked how we turn on the string lights and within 2 minutes the lights turned on it was the most amazing fun surprise for them to turn them on remotely for us. We hiked to Stewart falls it is so beautiful and the water was incredibly cold. The croissants down at the bakery are so good, we walked down several days to get one. We also took the lifts up to eat at the restaurant. We liked the nachos! Our only recommendation is that they get AC installed for the cabin. We knew ahead of time it didn't have one but it was very warm sleeping conditions for us. We will definitely be back and loved every minute of our stay there!! Thank you for such a fun and memorable family vacay!!!!

We loved our stay at Heartwood. First and foremost, the mattresses and bedding were super comfortable. We loved the spacious, open kitchen and dining, the cozy tv area with fireplace, the balconies, the heated pads that made getting to the car and hot tub easier, the thoughtful, tasteful decor, and the cleanliness in general. The stewart mtn lodging staff were super friendly and helpful when advising about non-ski activities and dining, and even brought a tea kettle at my request. Check in and check out were super easy too. We'll be back!

This January was the third time my family has booked with Stewart Lodging. The accommodations are always very comfortable, and you feel like you are at home. The Heartwood cabin was located close to the slopes and had great views of the mountains.

Heartwood cabin provided a comfortable and peaceful experience for my daughter, grandkids and me on a golden weekend in late October. We hiked to the majestic Stewart Falls, spent early mornings and evenings watching the sky from the hot tub, and cooked meals in the spacious and well-equipped kitchen. The grandkids loved their bunk room, and I appreciated the deluxe shower and space of the master bedroom suite. The staff of Stewart Mountain Lodging were friendly and a helpful resource.

This property is managed by a family-owned property manager who gives it many great personal touches, including guides for the local area, tips for where to get what you need from the stores, and easy access to otherwise tricky-to-find hiking trails. Don't overlook the management's private park with zipline and swing. We spent hours there relaxing by the water with a fire without anyone else around.

This cabin is all you need and possibly want. It is not our first time at this beautiful and cozy place. First of all, the customer service is exceptional. These guys want to make sure you get there safe, and don't get lost. The cabin is ready for you! All the details you might possibly think of, are at your convenience. Very clean, well organized, and always prepared for new guests. We were given complimentary 2 hours extra before we checked out. Don't worry about being bored! You have access to all possible movie apps, table games, cooking, grilling, etc.
The fireplace is always stocked with fresh firewood, cozy blankets and a stunning views.
The hot tub is the gem! Clean, sanitized and we'll maintained.

This is our second time renting a beautiful home from Stewart Mountain Lodging and we can't say enough good things about their properties, customer service and details that go into making the stay the best it can be. We stayed at the Heartwood home recently and it is a beautiful property, with the perfect location for wanting to ski at the local resort (less than a mile drive and we were able to see skiers on the trials from the home). The home is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, very clean, and welcoming as they prepare the home for your arrival (fire lit, heat/lights on, and a delicious cake waiting for us). We had an internet connection issue the first night and they were so responsive, easy to get an hold of and took care of the matter immediately, even following up to make sure we were good the next day. This is the type of hospitality that makes you want to come back yearly where it feels like you are staying in a friends cabin. Grateful for the opportunity to stay in one of their beautiful homes and make memories with my family. Looking forward to next year already.

This is a beautiful home set high above Sundance ski area entrance. In the winter snow tires and four wheel drive might be needed even though they work hard at plowing the road to the homes on the mountainside. Even though we had planned to drive out everyday to ski areas on our Ikon pass, we found Sundance to be a great area and enjoyed skiing there.
